    • Mastery of Emotional Stress Release  -  2 Day Workshop
Frontal/occipital holding is a powerful kinesiology stress release technique. Some Kinesiologists claim this alone relieves mental and emotional stress.
Go beyond the F/O hold with K-Power® Mastery of Emotional Stress Release. Develop further understanding and skills to assist clients to find new resources, see new possibilities, use their senses and intuition, state what they are feeling, want and are willing to do to achieve this, with or without the use of imagery, symbolic encapsulation and picture frame, active listening or role play. Assist clients defuse stress related to (but not limited to) challenges to their authority and terminating relationships and use the hypothesis of an older, wiser self.
A total of 20 emotional stress defusion techniques packaged in a two-day, hands-on, interpersonal, experiential intensive that will make a positive difference in the way you work with clients.

    • Overcoming Co-dependency  -  2½ Day Workshop
Co-dependency is sometimes called ‘relationship addiction’ because people with co-dependency tend to form or maintain relationships that are one-sided, emotionally destructive and/or abusive. It is both an emotional and a behavioral condition which affects an individual’s ability to have healthy, mutually satisfying relationships.

Those who have completed this workshop will be able to recognize the basic characteristics of co-dependency, work with definitions to bring awareness and teach clients the basics of mental and emotional self care; assist clients to complete a co-dependency questionnaire and administer a co-dependency quiz; assist clients in exploring early childhood issues and their relationship to current destructive behaviour patterns; help clients get in touch with feelings that have been buried during childhood and use kinesiology techniques to defuse the past from the present to allow them to experience their full range of feelings again and with new skills reconstruct healthy personal and family dynamics.

    • Core Muscles and Techniques  -  2 Day Workshop
When the core muscles are weak or not in balance a common side effect is back pain. People in the gym who work their rectus abdominis with crunches but fail to strengthen their transverse abdominals commonly experience lower back pain. Back pain is common because so many muscles have to contract and relax to allow a person to stand and move.

The main objective of this workshop is to learn three prime techniques that you can apply to every muscle you test in the future. As well as developing skill and understanding in evaluating and balancing muscle energy imbalances in the 13 core muscles of the torso, you will learn core techniques like muscle stretch response, sustained muscle use, hidden muscle failure. Having learned the 13 core muscles and applied the three core techniques, you will learn the More Mode, surrogate muscles, the circuit retaining mode, the important principle of muscle reactivity and how to correct reactive muscles.

    • The Shoulder/Arm Protocol  -  1 Day Workshop
Clients rarely ask for help because of ‘imbalances in their muscle energy’ - rather they come complaining of pain, restricted movement, weakness, or a combination of these. The condition may or may not be the result of an injury. Frequently they will have seen another practitioner who has given them anti-inflammatory medication, and sent them for physiotherapy or massage. The person may have had a poorer response to the treatment than they expected and now is shopping around for an alternative.

The purpose of this workshop is to develop skill and understanding in evaluating and balancing muscle energy imbalances in the 22 muscles of the shoulder girdle. We will not only work with the physical but with the mental, emotional and metaphysical aspects of shoulder problems. The expressions that clients use such as, “I’m shouldering my burdens” can be very significant clues to client management.

    • The Elbow, Wrist and Hand Protocol  -  1 Day Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to develop skill and understanding in evaluating and balancing muscle energy imbalances in the elbow, wrist and hand regions. There are so many people today suffering with occupationally related disorders in these areas.

Clients come complaining of pain, restricted movement, weakness, or a combination of these. The condition may or may not be the result of an injury. Frequently they will have seen another practitioner who has given them anti-inflammatory medication, and sent them for physiotherapy or massage. The person may have had a poorer response to the treatment than they expected and now is shopping around for an alternative.

In this workshop, we will not only work with the physical but with the mental, emotional and metaphysical aspects of elbow, wrist and hand problems. The expressions that clients use such as, “I’m up to my elbows in...” can be very significant clues to client management.

    • The Hip/Thigh Protocol  -  1 Day Workshop
Athletes often talk of strained or pulled ‘quads and hams’ . Such conditions involve the tearing of these muscles or their tendons and occur mainly in athletes who do not warm up properly. They will often say it didn’t really hurt at first but a few hours later the pain intensified. Frequently they will have seen another practitioner who has given them anti-inflammatory medication, and sent them for physiotherapy or massage. They may have had a poorer response to the treatment than they expected and are now seeking an alternative.

In this workshop you will develop skill and understanding in evaluating and balancing muscle energy imbalances in the hip and thigh regions. With K-Power® the usual 1-3 weeks of rest followed by stretching can be dramatically reduced. We will not only work with the physical but with the mental, emotional and metaphysical aspects of hip and thigh problems. The expressions that clients use such as, “...is being a pain in the butt over...” can be significant clues to client management.

    • The Knee, Ankle and Foot Protocol  -  1 Day Workshop
The knee joint is an unstable, complex joint. Because there is no deep depression on the top of the tibia it is relatively easy for the tibia to slip out of the normal articular position. Shinsplints is a colloquial term. People complaining of ‘shinsplints’ may have been given this ‘diagnosis’ for a range of conditions including tibial fracture, muscle tears and inflammation of the shin fascia. The energy model of K-Power® avoids this confusion. We balance the energy in this situation by using our reflex points and by attending to the emotions involved.

Rupture of the achilles tendon is another common athletic injury. Complete rupture is usually treated with surgery followed by a long recovery period. By using K-Power® reflexes and attending to the emotional component of the injury (both before and after surgery) recovery time can be significantly reduced. In Achilles tendinitis the tendon becomes inflamed and painful and can take weeks to settle. Chronic problems like these may resolve with K-Power®.

  • Personology - Instinctual Behaviour Series: Build an understanding of why we and those around us behave as we do.
    • Your Face is Talking To Me  -  1 Day Workshop
Personology explains how our genes express themselves in our structure and personality. It relates the human physical structure (primarily the face) to the basic behavioural functioning process and the personality. The major understanding is that one’s structure predisposes function as is seen throughout the animal kingdom.

Personology is not about judging the looks or behaviours of others but rather understanding the uniqueness of everyone’s personality and its expression. Personology is a science, based on the inherited traits handed down from our parents and ancestors, that reveals how the structure of our bodies exerts a powerful influence on our behaviour.

In this workshop you will use muscle testing to identify the priority trait (therefore instinctual behaviour) causing stress in relation to life situations. By clearing the stress at the causal age, you will have more choice in creating the behaviours you desire and living out the fullness of your genetic potential.

    • Your Face is Talking Again  -  1 Day Workshop
Structure predisposes or inclines function throughout the animal and bird kingdoms. Compare a race horse to a Clydesdale work horse. They are both created differently to function differently. Put them in a race and we would know which would win. Each functions in a different yet predictable way.

The same pattern exists for humans. Personologists look at physical structure and determine how it indicates a behaviour pattern. Personology is a science, based on the inherited traits handed down from our parents and ancestors, that reveals how the structure of our bodies exerts a powerful influence on our behaviour.

In this workshop we will use muscle testing to identify 10 more traits (each with instinctual behaviours) that may cause stress in relation to life situations. By clearing the stress at the causal age, you will have more choice in creating the behaviours you desire and living out the fullness of your genetic potential.

  • Other K-Power® workshops: More workshops for professionals and lay-persons.
    • Tibetan Energy and Vitality  -  1 Day Workshop
Looking and feeling better is one reason why we seek to improve our energy level. Low energy, fatigue, pain and loss of motivation are all signs that our body is functioning at less than its best.

The Tibetan Energy and Vitality workshop was designed by Dr Bruce and Joan Dewe to teach easy, practical stress management techniques that people can use for themselves and with family and friends:

“We seek to empower people - to give them tools, fresh hope and to show them ways to move ahead out of their present situations, whether it be pain, dysfunction, overwhelm, weariness, fatigue, frustration or apparent hopelessness.”

The workshop teaches a number of techniques originally developed by the people of Tibet to aid healing and improve energy and vitality.

    • New Perceptions in Life and Living - Flower Essences  -  2 Day Workshop
We live in a time of tremendous joyfulness. We have access to our conscious mind, our subconscious mind (where past memories are stored), and our supra-conscious or Higher Self mind. We can choose our own reality, or co-create it with others in co-operation with others, at all levels of the universe.

Flower essences are tools for our use, to help us bring this into reality. They are consciousness-raising tools, for what limits consciousness but fear? Is this time a time of fear or is it to be one of love? If one of love, as we believe, then that deeper or higher love must grow higher and deeper in ourselves, so that we can see the connectedness of all and, letting go of fear, allow the understanding and love to grow. This workshop is about letting go of fears.

Energy Boost with Foot Reflex Points
This is a quick energy boost. If you come in from shopping with tired feet, feel your energy at an all-time low and wish you could get a quick energy boost try the kinesiology technique that Dr Bruce Dewe uses. Simply rub the Walking Gait Reflexes on your feet for yourself and feel your energy rise!

The special reflexes in the feet associated with walking are called gait reflexes. One of the many factors involved in tiredness could be a disturbance in our walking gait. This is an imbalance in the normal co-ordination of the muscles used in walking. When the synergistic and antagonistic muscles are not working in an integrated, synchronized manner, walking becomes tiring.

Gait reflex imbalance can be related to situations such as: tiredness, uneven shoe-wear, poor co-ordination, brain fog or confusion, dyslexia or learning problems. A Professional Kinesiology Practitioner would also consider metaphysical factors such as: anxiety in terms of stepping out, fear of change, not moving ahead in your life.

Walking is meant to have an energizing, de-stressing and integrating influence on the human body. A brisk walk, even when we are tired, can lift our spirits and can help us to feel refreshed again. Sometimes, however, it doesn’t seem to work. We take a walk or go to the gym but our energy remains low and it requires effort to motivate ourselves. We return more tired than when we started. Rubbing our gait reflexes can provide a much needed lift at times like this.

First assess your energy:

  1. Walk around the room.
  2. Make an assessment of your energy level on a scale of 0 - 10

Rub the Gait Reflexes (between the foot bones)

  1. Look at the diagram of your Walking Gait Reflexes:
  2. Rub all points with firm pressure (They may be tender).

Now Reassess your energy level:

  1. Walk around the room.
  2. Make a new assessment of your energy level on a scale of 0-10.

Note the energy boost.

Possible causes of gait problems:
Badly-fitting shoes, high heels, walking on uneven surfaces, sports activities, training in inappropriate footwear, especially on hard surfaces.

NB. In doing this simple technique we are not discounting or forgetting important factors like disturbances in leg length, the pelvic bones, lymph flow, the diet or more serious conditions such as anemia. These and other factors like rest, sleep and emotional disturbances at home or work may of course be involved and are always considered by Kinesiologists. Remember, if unexplained tiredness persists see your health professional.

Emotional Freedom with ESR Points

When we experience stress, be it emotionally or physically generated, our bodies go through a series of biochemical changes that vary in intensity depending on the severity of the stress or trauma. One of the effects of stress is the imprinting of a series of negative factors which seem almost to haunt us.

We may ’forget’ an individual stressful incident but our bio-computer stores the information and remembers the stress every time we encounter a similar situation. The result is a cumulative effect that leads to our being in stress (distress) almost continually.

Emotional freedom with ESR aids in rebalancing our emotions and releasing pent-up mental or emotional energy in a safe way. The physical effects of ESR include a general sense of lightness and relaxation and a lifting of mental fog. Relationships which are under stress can be helped immensely. Children respond to ESR quickly and easily. After ESR at times even vision seems clearer and hearing appears to be more acute. Use it often.

When to use ESR

Use ESR whenever you are emotionally stressed. Obtaining emotional freedom with ESR is the same in all situations, whether you are preparing for exams, a job interview, an athletic event, or working on resolving old hurts, recent misunderstandings or anger management.

You can use ESR for past, present and future stress events. The right side brain is timeless it can be used as a kind of ’time-machine’ as you hold your ESR points. As you mentally revisit the past or envision the future while holding the ESR points the brain can de-stress whatever is 'on-line'.

Where can I do ESR?

ESR can be done anywhere. When sitting at your desk, overwhelmed and bombarded with demands for instant decisions, take a moment for ESR. Put your hands on your forehead (as in the diagram). Let everything flow over you. In a few seconds a priority of importance in the decision making or a clarity of ideas will come. If you are a person who makes lists, now is the time to pick up a pen and make notes as the awareness's come. You will find the panic, overwhelm and nervousness you felt before have gone. You can move calmly and confidently through your day.

First make an Assessment
Assess your stress level (or your emotional energy towards your ’day’) on a scale of 0 - 10.
Helping yourself with the ESR Balance:
  1. Close your eyes and lightly hold your frontal eminences. (On the forehead above the eyes - see the diagram.)
  2. Focus on the event or problem.
  3. See the details. (Be aware of the colours, sounds, shapes, smells and feelings involved.)
  4. Make it real. (You may notice shallow breathing, flickering of your eyes or tearfulness.)
  5. Continue to lightly hold your forehead, breathe and relax. These signs of stress will pass.
  6. Now play the day (or event) as you would like it to happen. Fantasy is OK here.
  7. When your mind starts to wander you know the event is cleared of immediate stress.
Now make a Re-assessment:
  1. Reassess how you feel (or your emotional energy towards your ’day’) on a scale of 0 - 10.
  2. Repeat the process as different aspects of the stress comes to mind. It is okay to do it often.
How does ESR work?
Emotional Freedom with ESR activates special reflexes (called NV points or GB 14 points) which bring more blood to the frontal lobes of the brain. Front brain thinking is creative, with new options and new alternatives. When we use the front brain we tend to find new ways of looking at old problems, new possibilities and alternative solutions. Back brain thinking is the survival response mode. Here we generate automatic reactions based on the alarm and vigilance responses as well as on past experiences.

The stress chemicals seem to have the effect of reducing front brain / back brain and left brain / right brain integration. This prevents us thinking creatively under stress. Emotional freedom with ESR reverses this process. This has the effect of reducing or erasing the biochemical triggers to the old stress memories and thus relieves stress.
